OVER SACHA DE BOER
Sacha de Boer (1967) is visueel verhalenverteller, gespecialiseerd in portretten en documentaire fotografie. Ze is min of meer autodidact fotograaf en communicatiewetenschapper (UvA). Na haar studie heeft ze jarenlang als tv-journalist gewerkt, voordat ze in 2013 terugkeerde naar de fotografie. Sindsdien reist ze veel, heeft ze diverse publicaties op haar naam staan en exposeert ze regelmatig.

OVER HET PORTRET
Xueli trekt zich het lot van andere kinderen met albinisme in het buitenland erg aan, en realiseert zich dat zij geluk heeft gehad toen ze na haar geboorte in China is afgestaan en geadopteerd door een liefdevol Nederlands echtpaar. Vanwege haar porselein-witte huid en haar is ze een veelgevraagd model aan het worden. Omdat ze niet zo goed tegen flitslicht kan, heeft De Boer haar met zo min mogelijk licht gefotografeerd.

Sacha de Boer (1967) is a visual storyteller, who is specialized in portraits and documentary photography. She is a communication scientist (UvA) and a more or less self-taught photographer. She has worked as a TV journalist for many years, before returning to photography in 2013. Since then she has been travelling a lot, has several publications to her name and she exhibits regularly.

ABOUT THE PORTRAIT
Xueli is very concerned about the fate of other children with albinism abroad, and realizes that she was lucky when she was adopted by a loving Dutch couple after her birth in China. Because of her porcelain white skin and hair, she is becoming a much sought-after model. As she is very sensitive to flash light, De Boer photographed her with as little light as possible.
