OVER WOUTER LE DUC
Wouter le Duc (1989) ontving in 2014 zijn Bachelor of Fine Arts van de Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam. Tijdens zijn studie heeft hij een semester in Vancouver doorgebracht aan de Emily Carr University of Art + Design en liep hij stage bij Rob Hornstra. Zijn werk is onder andere tentoongesteld op Pan Amsterdam, Art Rotterdam, Copenhagen Photo Festival en de Royal Photographic Society Print Exhibition in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Naast zijn persoonlijke projecten doet hij portretopdrachten voor diverse nationale en internationale kranten, tijdschriften en bedrijven.

OVER DE FOTO
In 2019 vertelde een vriend van de fotograaf dat hij zich identificeerde als non-binair. Non-binaire personen voelen zich man noch vrouw of juist man én vrouw. Le Duc was gefascineerd door de moedige stap die deze vriend durfde te zetten. In de serie ‘Them’ legt hij non-binaire personen vast.

Wouter le Duc (1989) received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam in 2014. During his studies, he spent a semester in Vancouver at the Emily Carr University of Art + Design and he interned with Rob Hornstra. His work has been exhibited at Pan Amsterdam, Art Rotterdam, Copenhagen Photo Festival and the Royal Photographic Society Print Exhibition in the UK. In addition to his personal projects, he is commissioned by various national and international newspapers, magazines and companies.

ABOUT THE PHOTO
In 2019, a friend of the photographer shared that he identified as non-binary. Non-binary persons feel neither man nor woman or, on the contrary, man and woman. Le Duc was fascinated by the courageous step this friend dared to take. In the series “Them” he portrays non-binary people.
